Augmented reality in order to encourage play in motion.
Movement, play in motion, is Imaginarium's new augmented reality initiative for their Superpaquito tablet.
The goal of this project is to apply augmented reality so that children move throughout their house or go outside rather than play while seated.
An application was developed with three augmented reality games:
-Find the color: Search your surroundings for the color that is shown.
-Explode the balloons: Point to the balloons with the sight glass, touch any part of the screen and make them explode.
-Maze: Move your tablet in order to exit the maze.
Movement was released in more than 15 countries and translated into Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese. This application has continued to introduce the concept of play in motion and to encourage mobility among young children.
- Sensor based augmented reality (accelerometer and giroscopes).
- Real time color recognition and classification.
- Lightweight 3D graphics engine.
- Physics engine and collisions.
